Who is Bonbuki?
Bonbuki is a indy publisher of children books authored and illustrated by Margreet Faassen-Pijpers and is located in Bonaire, Dutch Antilles in the Caribbean.
The first book, title “How Castor Got Lost” will be released in June 2010 and will also be for sale online through this website. The books are unique because next to Dutch and English it also includes a Papiamento translation.
Papiamento is the official and most widely spoken language on the Caribbean islands of Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao (the so-calledABC islands). Papiamento is also spoken on the island of Sint Eustatius.
Papiamento is a creole language derived from the Portuguese language with vocabulary influences from African languages, English, and Arawaknative languages.
